Upgrading Our Bronco Raptor with RPG Offroad: A Game-Changer for High-Speed Off-Roading
When pushing a vehicle like the Bronco Raptor to its limits in the desert, rocks, and whoops, durability and control become the name of the game. Stock components get the job done for mild trails, but for serious off-roaders, upgrading weak points is a must. That’s where RPG Offroad comes in.
Over the past year, we’ve put RPG’s billet upper control arms, lower links, half tie rod kit, billet top hat kit, and panhard bar to the test in high-speed desert runs, rock crawling, and technical trails. Here’s how these upgrades transformed our rig.
More Steering Feedback & Durability – Half Tie Rod Kit
🔗 RPG Offroad Half Tie Rod Kit
One of the first weak points we noticed in the stock setup was the steering system, especially in rocky terrain and high-speed impacts. The RPG half tie rod kit made an immediate difference, giving us more feedback through the wheel and added confidence when blasting through rough sections. Steering failure is the last thing you want miles from civilization, and this upgrade is one we’d recommend as a first step for any serious off-roader.
Stronger Suspension = Faster, More Controlled Driving
Billet Top Hat Kit – More Stability & Peace of Mind
🔗 RPG Billet Coilover Top Hat Kit
One of the most underrated suspension upgrades has been the billet top hat kit. After cycling the suspension with our shock tuner, we confirmed no coil binding or interference—a huge relief. With this upgrade, we’ve been able to push our shocks harder, fine-tune for aggressive off-road driving, and have peace of mind knowing we’re reducing the risk of shock failure.
Billet Upper Control Arms & Lower Links – Rigidity & Durability
🔗 Upper Control Arms
🔗 Lower Links
From a performance standpoint, the biggest improvement has been how planted the Bronco Raptor feels through whoops and fast sections. The combination of billet UCAs and lower links has increased rigidity, making the truck feel more predictable and stable in high-speed, off-camber terrain. This setup allows the suspension to absorb hits better without deflection or unwanted movement.
Rear-End Stability at Speed – Billet Panhard Bar
🔗 RPG Billet Panhard Bar
A panhard bar isn’t always the first upgrade people think of, but it makes a big difference at high speeds. While we kept the length the same as stock, the stronger and more rigid RPG panhard bar tightened up our rear-end stability—helping the truck stay more composed in fast sections and reducing unwanted lateral movement. If you’re frequently pushing 60+ mph through the desert, this is a solid addition to keep the truck tracking straight.
Final Thoughts – Where to Start?
If you’re looking to upgrade your Bronco Raptor’s suspension and steering but don’t know where to start, here’s our recommendation:
-
Half Tie Rod Kit – Prevent steering failure in the rocks and at high speeds.
-
Billet Top Hat Kit – Protect your shocks from damage and improve durability.
-
Upper Control Arms & Lower Links – Increase suspension stiffness and stability for faster driving.
-
Billet Panhard Bar – Tighten up the rear end for better high-speed handling.
With these upgrades, our Bronco Raptor feels stronger, more responsive, and ready to tackle anything we throw at it. We’re stoked to keep pushing the limits and putting RPG’s components to the test in more extreme conditions. Stay tuned for more adventures, and let us know which RPG upgrades you’re running on your rig!
