Hyperco Springs: The Perfect Upgrade for Our Bronco Raptor

When it comes to fine-tuning the ride of an off-road vehicle, suspension upgrades can make all the difference. As overlanders and media professionals constantly pushing our vehicles to the limit, we need a setup that can handle everything from slow rock crawling to high-speed desert runs—all while carrying extra gear. That’s why we chose Hyperco’s 2” Front and 2” Rear HD Springs for our Bronco Raptor, and the difference has been night and day.

Why We Chose Hyperco

We’ve experimented with various suspension setups across multiple builds, including Eibach springs on our Chevy Colorado. But when it came to upgrading the Bronco Raptor, Hyperco was the first to develop a full spring kit for this platform. Their experience in motorsports-grade suspension made them a solid choice, and after running them hard in multiple terrains, we can confidently say they’ve lived up to the hype.

Improved Ride & Performance

One of the biggest improvements we noticed after installing the Hyperco springs was the overall ride quality. The rear HD springs eliminated rear sag, especially with our added weight from overlanding gear, camera equipment, and recovery tools. This upgrade allows the OEM Fox Live Valve shocks to cycle properly in their stock position, resulting in a smoother, more controlled ride.

From crawling through technical terrain to blasting through open desert, these springs have enhanced our vehicle’s balance, stability, and comfort. The added ride height also gives us better ground clearance without compromising suspension articulation.

Dialing in the Front Suspension

Currently, we’re running the 2” front and 2” rear springs, but after a recent shock revalving for more aggressive high-speed off-road handling, we discovered that our front sits slightly higher than optimal. Lowering the front by 1 inch would put the Fox Live Valve shocks in the ideal position for maximum performance. We hope to see Hyperco release a 1” front spring option in the future to allow even finer suspension tuning.

Aesthetic & Durability

Hyperco’s Bronco Raptor springs now come in a clean gray finish, which pairs well with our black RPG control arms and orange Fox shocks for a sleek, understated look.

In terms of durability, the springs have taken a beating in all conditions, from rocky trails to high-speed desert washes. We haven’t noticed any significant spring settling despite consistently carrying heavy loads. This is a huge plus, as some aftermarket springs tend to sag over time under extra weight.

Why We Recommend Hyperco Springs Over Perch Collars or Puck Leveling Kits

If you’re considering a ride height or comfort upgrade, we highly recommend avoiding perch collars or puck leveling kits that could bind your stock springs. Unlike those options, Hyperco’s coils allow the shock to fully cycle, providing better ride quality, performance, and longevity.

Whether you’re looking to eliminate rear sag, improve comfort, or get a better overall suspension feel, Hyperco’s Bronco Raptor spring kit is one of the best upgrades we’ve made to our build. We can’t wait to keep putting them to the test on our upcoming adventures!
